17th Century French Oak ChestSuperb 17th Century French chest decorated with patterns of rosettes within circle carvings on the front panel. A solid construction having a single plank, hinged lid that opens to reveal two compartments. Four solid oak slabs with rustic dovetailing, a lovely visible detail. A substantial, heavy and well made chest.
This antique chest dates from the period when chests or coffers were often the main items of furniture in French households.
Excellent rich colour and patina. A very versatile item!
