A Grand Scale Pair of 19th Century French Needlework Armchairs.
These chairs are of particularly large and imposing scale and were made in France in the late 19th century after an 18th century model. The chairs are deep and comfortable to sit in and retain their original needlework upholstery, armrest pads and squab cushions, all of which have survived in excellent condition. The needlework consists of naturalistic flowers on a brown ground which. The frames are carved with floral details and large shells in the centre of the front seat rails.
