18th Century English Oak Dresser Base

An Early to Mid 18th Century English Oak Dresser Base of Exceptional Quality. Circa 1730-1760.
This dresser base is of larger than average size and stands wonderfully well. Standing on five cabriole legs to the front, The piece has a particularly strong look with an arched decoration to the frieze that is highlighted with raised moulding which also runs around the sides. The top also has a moulded edge and the timber used throughout is of especially high quality, and figured with a lovely variation in colour across its surface. It has attained a fine colour and patination.
This dresser is more sophisticated than the average dresser base and is one of a very small group of examples made in similar patterns.
