Small 17th Century English Oak Side Table
An Attractive 17th Century English Oak Side Table of Small Size and Good Colour. Circa 1680.
This piece is a great example of a provincial oak side table from the late 17th century. The top is made of two planks which overhang the base. The base consists of a frieze with a base moulding and an inset drawer and well turned column legs joined by horizontal stretchers with simple mouldings to the top. The oak used throughout is of good colour with excellent figure to the timber and the table is of pegged construction as would be expected of a piece of this age.
