19th Century English Regency Rosewood Sofa Table
A Small and Very Fine 19th Century English Regency Period Sofa Table in Highly Figured Rosewood.
This lovely table is of a smaller size than most, its proportions are particularly fine. It is extremely well-balanced, the slim end supports and high stretcher being very nice aesthetic features and signs of high quality. The table has two drawers to the frieze with contrasting stringing and strung detail to the end blocks, stretcher and supports. The rosewood is very highly figured and has faded beautifully, the swirling grain being very well matched throughout the piece.
Sofa tables are practical pieces of furniture and this is a good example with small proportions.
