A good pair of 19th Century oak armchairs or library chairs with excellent burgundy leather upholstery. The backs have a carved top crest with a central roundel surrounded by carvings of leaves and foliage. Having buttoned backs and arms with brass studded detailing throughout. Carved arm supports with roundel ends and carved paterae. Raised on turned tapering legs and original brass castors.
Strong, comfortable chairs, ideal for a library.
