A Pair of 19th Century Italian Mahogany Console Tables with White Marble Tops.
Conceived in the Empire style but made later in the 19th century in Italy. These fine tables have rectangular overhanging marble tops which are supported on plain friezes, and four turned column supports with ormolu capitals and bases, the metal mounts finely executed and the gilding of fine quality. The columns are linked to a platform stretcher or undertier with concave front. Standing on toupie front feet and rectangular back feet.
These tables are finely proportioned and the timber used throughout is of high quality. They are very good examples of their type.
