19th Century French Walnut Centre Table with Marble Top
An Unusual 19th Century French Walnut Guéridon or Centre Table with Original Marble Top.
This table has a very distinctive form of base with three flying brackets leading from the central column that support the top. The base is of the familiar tripartite platform type with incurving sides and stands upon three carved paw feet with their original castors. The walnut has acquired a fine colour and patination.
The original marble top has a complex moulded edge. The top is of variegated black, grey and cream colour, the swirling figure giving the table a contemporary look.
A very attractive and finely made table.
