A Large, Attractive 19th Century French Walnut Console Table with Marble Top.
It has excellent, useful proportions being narrow in depth but wide in width.
The table consists of a figured marble top, black in colour but with inclusions of grey and white and swirling backgrounds. The frieze below has a concealed drawer. A particularly strong undertier, which is connected by four supports. The front supports are elegant and cabriole in outline and they terminate in finely carved paw feet. The back supports are of rectangular section but with carved collared detailing. Standing on flattened bun feet at the front.
The walnut is of a fine colour and patination and the wood has plenty of interesting shapes.
