A Beautifully Patinated 18th Century French Silver Gilt Console with Faux Marble Top.
Designed in the rococo manner. This table has a beautiful silver gilt finish by virtue of a combination of both silvering and gilding which has aged beautifully and acquired a fine patination. The table top is painted in imitation of marble and shaped to follow the outline of the table frame. The sides of the frame incorporate shell and rocaille work, as do the knees. The front frieze has a central rocaille as well as finely carved leaves and foliage. The piece stands on four cabriole legs with scroll and toupie feet.
This is a fabulous example of its kind and its charming aged appearance will appeal to anyone who appreciates antique furniture.
