19th Century English Regency Rosewood Sofa Table

An Interesting English Regency Sofa Table in Rosewood Crossbanded in Burr Elm.
An unusual form of sofa table, the end flaps having angled corner detailing. The table is supported on a lyre form pedestal and four spreading legs and there is geometric marquetry in the form of stylised X or cross forms on the platform and the frieze of the piece. It retains its original brass paw form castors.
Executed in finely figured rosewood, the table has faded to a beautiful mellow colour, highlighted by the wide band of burr elm crossbanding on the top.
A distinctive and attractive table.
