Early 18th Century Baroque Console Table
Rare and magnificent, Italian early 18th century Baroque, freestanding gilt wood console table. The four reverse-curve legs are joined by four stretchers adorned with scroll and foliage carvings, terminating in scrolling feet. A lovely carving of a putti angel face and shell to the front. The time worn mecca gilding producing an exceptional patina and colour.
Retaining its fine, original Lumachella marble top, a rare piece of fossilised snails and iridescent shells. Circa 1720.
