19th Century English Regency Mahogany Hall Bench
A 19th Century Mahogany Hall Bench/Window Seat
This lovely bench is executed in finely carved mahogany, the shaped back ornamented with mouldings and leafy foliage. The arm supports consist of turned baluster columns with capped finials and the legs are also fine examples of the work of the turner, with reeded detailing throughout. The combination of the quality of timber and certain decorative details suggest that this piece might have come from the Gillows workshops c.1840. The piece stands exceptionally well and is of the highest quality.
