Pair of 19th Century French Walnut Benches
SOLD
An Excellent Pair of 19th Century French Walnut Benches.
This pair of benches are of interesting design. The carved floral paterae are clearly references to Louis XVI period furniture, as are the tapering fluted legs. The splat backs, featuring what can perhaps be best described as propellor-shaped splats. The frieze on the benches is nicely panelled. The benches have a very mellow, faded colour and a dry surface.
