19th Century French Walnut Serving Table

An Unusual 19th Century French Walnut Serving Table with Bobbin Turned Legs.
A great quality table, made from well figured walnut. The thick top makes it sturdy and suitable for many modern uses. The edge of the top has an elegant fluted moulding applied to it. The frieze has four small drawers in it, all with turned wood handles which are partially recessed into mouldings applied to the drawer fronts. The legs are decorative, combining bobbin turning, bun feet and baluster capitals in to one design. These legs are very well turned and must have been extremely time consuming to make.
The top of the table is made of two central planks with cross banding around the edges and the whole surface has faded gloriously.
