Early 19th Century English Gothic Oak Partners Desk
SOLD
Early 19th Century English gothic oak partners desk with tooled leather writing surface. The top conforms in shape to the pillars below, flanking each set of five drawers. There are drawers on both sides of the desk making this a desirable partners desk having both sides exactly the same. (Most would have drawers on one side and cupboards on the other). Standing on solid plinth bases, again conforming in shape to the pillars. Wonderfully simple gothic influence with side panels carved with the traditional, gothic arches.
An excellent, substantial desk. Nice size and faded colour. A lovely tooled design in the middle of the leather top.
