19th Century, carved oak x-frame armchair of generous proportions.
Nicely shaped back and decorative carvings. Having stretchers to the sides of the supports which have a central carved block motif .
The Savanarola chair or "X" chair originated in medieval Italy and the style spread through Europe especially Spain. Production in the Renaissance style continued to the 19th century.
Upholstered in our workshops.
